Turkish company tasks Sacmi with the installation of an all-new production line

A new production line for technical and glazed porcelain tiles with a 10,000 metre-per-day output capacity has successfully been started up at the Usak factory in Turkey. This latest plant is set to become the jewel in the crown of the production facility near the town of Banaz.

Usak Seramik, in fact, a long-standing Turkish ceramic producer purchased several years ago by the Tanislar Group, has decided to get into the porcelain tile market in a big way by making a major investment.

The new line has two PH6500 presses - of a power and output capacity uncommon on the Turkish market - that feed an EVA984 vertical drier. Dried tiles are immediately sent on to the kiln, a solution that ensures minimal waste and maximum efficiency; this solution has been made possible thanks to the emergency storage systems supplied by Sima, the Sacmi Group company specialising in the design and production of high-performance handling and storage systems. The kiln is an all-new 130-metre FMS2950 and comes complete with a 12.6-metre pre-kiln JMS295 drier, a necessary requirement for this particular solution. Completing the plant are a kiln outlet storage system that uses automated vehicles and other accessories such as the dies made by Sacmi Mold&Dies. Also worthy of mention are the energy saving measures agreed on with Usak management: these include the kiln combustion air heating system (SPR) and use of a Inverter/Hygrometer system on the EVA984 drier, a key innovation that allows for perfect adjustment of the machine as a function of product moisture content while simultaneously providing considerable energy savings.

The partnership between the Sacmi Group and the Tanis family - which has once again chosen Sacmi to ensure the smooth expansion of its production facilities - continues to go, then, from strength to strength.
