With Eos Ambiente odours have no secrets

Renewed and perfected, to be exhibited by Sacmi at Ecomondo 2008

An innovative solution that meets the most modern “dynamic olfactometry” criteria – the science of measuring odours. A cutting-edge technological solution that allows enterprises that are “sensitive” from an olfactory viewpoint (e.g. distilleries, slaughterhouses, waste dumps, composting systems, livestock farms, refineries and chemical companies) to monitor unpleasant odours efficiently, thus minimising (as required by law) “olfactory harassment” phenomena.

The machine is called Eos Ambiente: designed by Sacmi two years ago as a prototype, it has since been extensively redesigned and now sports new external styling and a host of enhanced functions. As in previous years, the showcase for this Sacmi-designed technological gem will be the Rimini-held Ecomondo fair, which focuses on material/energy recovery and sustainable development. The event will take place in Rimini from 5th to 8th November 2008; it offers an excellent reference point for all specialised operators in the industry, from companies to potential purchasers.

The machine - exhibited in Hall C1, on stand 032 - is able to detect odours at the human perception threshold limit, even at considerable distances from the source: all thanks to electrochemical sensors and signal processing software that is capable of immediately associating the olfactory ‘fingerprint’ with a particular odour while, at the same time, measuring its concentration in a way that is objective and repeatable in compliance with UNI EN 13725.
