With Eos odours have no secrets

Renewed and perfected, Sacmi presents Aroma and Ambiente at ISOEN 2009

ISOEN, the international “Olfaction & Electronic Nose Symposium", now in its 13th edition, is one of the most important dates in the calendar within the field of gas sensors, artificial olfactory systems and natural olfaction. This year the occasion is to be held at the University of Brescia from 15th to 17th April and is expected to attract a wide public of experts, material scientists, chemists, physicists, engineers, biologists, computer scientists and application specialists (e.g. food, medical, environmental). Of particular interest is the involvement of the manufacturing industry with Sacmi, already present in the market for many years, official sponsor of the event.

Eos Ambiente : an innovative solution that meets the most modern “dynamic olfactometry” criteria – the science of measuring odours. A cutting-edge technological solution that allows enterprises that are “sensitive” from an olfactory viewpoint (e.g. distilleries, slaughterhouses, waste dumps, composting systems, livestock farms, refineries and chemical companies) to monitor unpleasant odours efficiently, thus minimising (as required by law) “olfactory harassment” phenomena.

Eos Aroma: the electronic olfactory system designed to measure odours from oils and juices. This instrument is irreplaceable in food quality assurance laboratories and is also suitable for the quality control of products and industrial processes in production lines.

The machine is able to detect odours at the human perception threshold limit, even at considerable distances from the source: all thanks to electrochemical sensors and signal processing software that is capable of immediately associating the olfactory ‘fingerprint’ with a particular odour while, at the same time, measuring its concentration in a way that is objective and repeatable in compliance with UNI EN 13725.
