Al Forsan, the KMG galaxy continues to grow with Sacmi solutions

Three supplied production plants now installed and started up successfully

A new investment for KMG (Khater Massaad Group) near Jeddah with the brand name of Al Forsan, established in King Abdullah Economic City in Saudi Arabia. Here, in the Al Forsan industrial district, the sanitary factory, first of three production plants established in close collaboration with Sacmi, has successfully been tested and started up.

In addition to the high-efficiency body preparation department, Al Forsan Sanitaryware has installed innovative Sacmi-designed solutions for the pressure casting of sanitary articles using porous resin moulds. The Al Forsan plant can, in fact, now count on a new already-operational multi-mould high pressure casting bench for the manufacture of open-rim WCs that has a highly efficient work cycle and is fully automated.

The thus-produced WCs are then transferred to the new robotized glazing line by Gaiotto, the Sacmi Group company that specialises in designing process automation solutions. They are then sent on for firing and, where required, re-firing, a process that takes full advantage of the cutting-edge kilns supplied by Riedhammer (one tunnel and shuttle kiln); the latter, in fact, provide unrivalled performance in terms of efficiency, energy savings (thanks to the EMS energy Management system) and output quality.

Thanks to this investment (the sanitaryware manufacturing facility is just one of three plants at the Al Forsan complex, with two other sites dedicated to the manufacture of ceramic tiles and another to the production of faucets), productivity on the new sanitaryware line has now reached 3,000 pieces a day, or about 1 million pieces a year. By renewing its partnership with Sacmi, and thanks to a new sanitaryware collection offering modern design and simple yet exclusive lines, the KMG Group aims to improve its positioning in Saudi Arabia and, from there, branch out into new high-end ceramic sanitaryware markets.
