Alfanar ‘giant’ to triple tile output

Fully Sacmi-supplied order placed by important Saudi industrial group

Already Italy’s partner following top level industrial agreements, the Alfanar Group is, today, one of Saudi Arabia’s biggest industrial concerns and has a specific division operating in the ceramic sector.

And it is this division that has chosen Sacmi to triple tile output over the coming months. The machines needed to achieve that goal include an additional raw material batching system and two continuous 88,000-litre mills. Then there is the spray drying department in which pride of place is taken by an 18,000 litre-per-hour ATM, while three high productivity PH 3020 presses serve two 5-layer 19.7-metre driers. Last but not least comes firing, with two large Sacmi-built FMS kilns – complete with JMS pre-kiln drier – each a good 153.3 metres long. Additional items and accessories such as conveyors, filters, glaze preparation equipment, moulds and so on have also been supplied.

Through this investment Alfanar has reasserted its mission to become a key player in the industrial development of Saudi Arabia, with important market prospects throughout the entire Middle East – while Sacmi, on its part, has underlined its role as a strategic partner for the growing ceramic industries of emerging economies.
