Automated glazing, Luzarte doubles capacity

Already installed the second production line supplied by Sacmi-Gaiotto

Luzarte, a long-standing producer of sanitaryware that has been active on the Brazilian market since 1961, has completed its plant renewal project. Following the success of its first automatic glazing line, supplied entirely by Sacmi-Gaiotto and operational since the end of 2012, this Brazilian company has now decided to double capacity, a clear acknowledgement of the outstanding quality and clear-cut advantages provided by Sacmi’s automated sanitaryware manufacturing solutions.

The heart of the new production line, installed at the plant in Caruaru (Pernambuco State), is the glazing station with its 4-position carousel and a Gaiotto-made GA 2000 8-axis robot. Like its predecessor, the new line is equipped with a full complement of Sacmi devices for effective process management, from off-line control to the mass control system that monitors and optimizes delivered glaze quantities, solutions that go hand-in-hand with the precision and reliability of the robot. The result? Reduced, optimized glaze consumption with simultaneous improvements in glazed surface quality, thanks also to outstanding process repeatability.

To complete the picture there are also automated piece handling solutions, such as the 4-movement loading-unloading system. The latter - driven by electric motors with inverters and position encoders - allows pieces to be picked and deposited (before and after glazing) on conveyor belts, thus making it easier for workers to carry out quality control.
A far-sighted investment choice, then, by Luzarte, which reaffirms its faith in Sacmi solutions, solutions that enjoy widespread market appreciation as they provide an effective response to the burgeoning need for ever-greater process automation.
