Bartin Seramik expands with Sacmi machinery

A new Riedhammer tunnel kiln is put into production

Bartin Seramik is a ceramic sanitaryware manufacturer set up in 1994 and located in the city of the same name in Turkey’s Black Sea region. The company sells its products on the local and overseas markets under the brand-name “Al-Vit”.

The business is expanding fast and has recently taken an important step forwards in collaboration with the Sacmi Group.

In fact a 60m long tunnel kiln mod. TWS 60/270/80-G, equipped with a pre-kiln drier mod. DLT 6/270/80 W, has recently been successfully commissioned at Bartin’s factory. This kiln model is widely used on the market and enables the customer to substantially improve the production output and performances of its plant. This is especially true as regards energy savings thanks to the use of state-of-the-art technology. The kiln can considerably reduce energy consumption for the company; vital for cutting costs in a country where the price of natural gas is extremely high.

With a firing cycle of less than 15 hrs and a maximum operating temperature of 1250°C, the TWS kiln can fire approx. 1.700 pieces per day;  a total load of almost 24 tonnes. The final commissioning showed a production rate 15% higher than that agreed in the contract.
From the point of view of quality, the tunnel kiln has achieved excellent outputs during the first firing of  a production mix which is quite complex in terms of shapes and dimensions.

Thanks to these excellent results, Bartin Seramik declared itself to be fully satisfied with the new supply. Sacmi’s promise of success for this project has been well and truly fulfilled and the benefits of Bartin’s decision to invest are clear to see.
