Brand new Negev Ceramics manufacturing plant for ultra-large porcelain tiles

New SACMI line successfully tested in Yeruham, Israel

An always-modernising ceramic tile manufacturer attentive to changing market needs, a giant in the distribution and sale of ceramic tiles and construction materials in general, a big name in Israel, Russia, the USA and Canada with a dynamic, expert and forward-thinking management team: all this is Negev, a Sacmi Group customer for over thirty years.

To face new market challenges and extend both output capacity and the size range, Negev has invested considerable resources in an all-new, just-tested plant and Sacmi has been chosen to equip the main production departments: milling, spray-drying, pressing and drying, firing, sorting and packaging. With cutting-edge solutions such as continuous modular grinding, very high tonnage PH7500 presses and wide-intake FMS295 kilns, the new plant can achieve an output capacity of 7 million m2/year, producing medium, large and ultra-large tiles sized from 300x300 to 1200x1200 mm.

Design has been perfected down to the very last detail, including the shipping and assembly plan, specially drawn up to ensure Negev has never had to interrupt output at the old plant despite it being, ultimately, fully incorporated into the new. Negev’s management also focussed a great deal of attention on all the latest, innovative systems that Sacmi provides to reduce energy consumption: indeed, modern systems mean that containing production costs is by no means incompatible with the pursuit of greater product quality. Another key aspect was safety, especially as regards the new gas supply system (now finally available in the area), regulated by some of the world’s strictest standards.

The partnership between Negev and SACMI, then, is one that goes back a long way, and continues to produce optimal results and outstanding mutual satisfaction.
