After providing almost 20 years of reliable service, the Gaiotto robotized WC and washbasin glazing line at Ceramica Simas (Civita Castellana) has received a thorough upgrade. Sacmi has supplied a comprehensive new line, designed to give the customer an array of advantages that include automation, zero maintenance and outstanding process efficiency and repeatability.
Firstly, the overhead conveyor lines have been replaced by a 4-position turret (for ground-level handling) to transport and automatically load/unload the pieces. Then there is the new GA 2000 robot, designed and developed by Sacmi-Gaiotto. This provides full flexibility and efficiency, allowing both off line and point-to-point programming; it also features a glazing programme self-learning function.
Moreover, the robot is equipped with the new Sacmi GDA 80 glazing gun, a needleless solution that almost eliminates maintenance and ensures extreme process repeatability.
Consistent, repeatable glazing operations and total control of all process parameters (thus ensuring uniform glaze distribution and a significant reduction in raw material consumption) make this solution the perfect response to the needs of the top players in the sanitaryware industry.
