Digital decoration: Kanjiza invests in Sacmi solutions

COLORA HD2 706 and new CRONO colour management system up and running at Serbian plant

Founded in 1980, the Serbian ceramic producer Kanjiza has distinguished itself in recent years through continuous investment in quality and new technological solutions. With a 25% market share and a yearly output of 3 million square metres it has steadily grown to become a key player on the domestic market. Looking to improve and extend its product range even further, the company decided to install the all-new COLORA HD2 706, the digital decorator (produced by Intesa, the Sacmi subsidiary that specialises in digital decoration) capable of printing any type of design at speeds of up to 48 m/min.

Featuring 4 colour bars, each with 7 print heads, the COLORA HD2 is also the perfect solution for large tile sizes and complex patterns. Successfully installed and started up in March, this machine has been designed to handle tiles as large as 400x400 mm and completes one of two single fire production lines, capable of producing no less than 1.5 million square metres a year in the 400x400 and 300x300 mm formats.

A key part of this order was the CRONO, the innovative colour management system produced by Intesa’s Imaging Division; this is currently the most comprehensive, innovative colour control system available for ceramic digital printing processes. Designed to be integrated with the Intesa COLORA HD2 digital decorator and COLORSCAN plotter, the CRONO system provides outstanding output autonomy and flexibility, thus minimising new product development times - new products that won widespread acclaim at the last edition of the Belgrade construction fair, held in April. During the fair, in fact, Kanjiza took 1st prize in the “best new product” competition.
