Eczacıbaşı grows in Russia with Sacmi

The Vitra Santehnika plant adopts the high pressure AVM for WCs

The Vitra Santehnika sanitaryware production plant, part of the multinational Eczacıbaşı Group, recently began manufacturing with a high pressure AVM casting system for WCs.

Sacmi had previously supplied systems for the drying, glazing and firing lines at Vitra’s Russian plant, inaugurated in May 2014. That same plant has now been equipped with a casting cell consisting of 2 single-mould AVM 150 casting machines for complex WCs, made using 7-part resin moulds.

The casting cell has a high level of automation thanks to the robot that serves the casting machines. The latter distributes adhesive for application of the rims, executes piece de-moulding, handles the WCs at the finishing and storage stations and overturns them when necessary. Fast, independent mould changeovers can be carried out on one of the two machines without having to shut down the other casting unit.

Vitra’s decision offers yet further proof that the AVM is a firm favourite among sanitaryware producers when it comes to manufacturing complex WCs; such products require high quality standards and flexible output solutions to keep pace with the variations that today’s Russian market expects from key players like the Eczacıbaşı Group.
