Electroporcelana Gamma (Colombia)

Sold a kiln and a drier

We have sold two machines (kiln+drier) plus the relative car control system. Kiln code STK 230/61.46 MT. Drier code 230/13 MT. This machine fires porcelain insulators for use in electrical devices. It has an output of 18 tons/day and produces pieces of varying size. The kiln fires the product at 1280 °C As old as the discovery of electricity itself, yet still an irreplaceable component on power line pylons and power line terminals, porcelain insulators represent one of the most specialised and difficult niches in the world of ceramics manufacturing. The difficulty in producing these pieces lies in the high firing temperature (peaking at 1280°C) and the different characteristics of the pieces being treated (varying thickness, dimensions, profiles). The goal is to ensure adequately homogeneous firing to give the piece compactness, homogeneity and excellent strength. Each firing cycle requires from 24 to 30 hours depending on the type of piece. To produce 18 tons a day - tens of thousands of differently sized pieces - Electroporcelana Gamma has commissioned Sacmi Forni to supply its Medellin plant with an STK 230 plant, a modular tunnel kiln over 60 m long, together with a 13-meter SFD 230 drier, complete with car control system. Electroporcelana Gamma is the most important manufacturer of porcelain insulators in Columbia and one of the biggest in all South America. It belongs to the Corona Group, a leading tile, sanitaryware and tableware manufacturer: the Group already employs several Sacmi plants, but this is the first time it has chosen Sacmi machines for the manufacture of its insulators.
