According to statements made this morning by the President of Confindustria Emilia-Romagna, Massimo Bucci, at the association’s new year press conference, the year 2004 looks like a promising one for the Emilia-Romagna tile industry. It is Mr. Bucci’s opinion that this will be the year in which the expected recovery vis-à-vis the volume of business generated by the Sassuolo tile district (the world’s biggest ceramic manufacturing area) becomes a concrete reality - despite worries about the adverse effects the strong Euro is having on all Italian exporters to world markets. Overall, stated Mr. Bucci, Emilia-Romagna is expected to grow by 1.5%, in keeping with national growth levels.
