Farr Ceramics conquers the European market

Bangladesh now producing tableware of outstanding quality thanks to Sama technology

Farr Ceramics, founded in late 2005, represents a giant leap forwards for production in Bangladesh. Located north of the capital, Dhaka, the plant became operative in February 2007, soon achieving a remarkable annual production rate of 10 million pieces of tableware, all of a quality so outstanding that the entire output can be sold on foreign markets.

These first-class results have been achieved thanks to partners who have supplied Farr Ceramics with the necessary technology, partners that include Sacmi and the German company Sama, a part of the same industrial Group and the world’s leading supplier of machines and complete plants to the tableware industry. It was Sama, in fact, that recently supplied Farr Ceramics with an all-new plant. Now fully operative, it is, according reports from Farr itself, already generating excellent results.

The excellence of the plant, points out Farr Ceramics, is reflected in terms of both finished product quality and productivity. The new tableware items currently being produced will be exported to those European countries that supplied the necessary know-how. In this sense, contracts have already been drawn up with key European wholesale distributors.

The promotional campaign launched by Farr Ceramics to conquer European markets also deserves a mention: this Bangladeshi company has already participated in the Ambiente Frankfurt fair, the most important international event dedicated to the home, kitchen, furnishing and accessory industries. And while the tableware production line currently installed by Sama at Farr Ceramics uses high pressure casting technology, Sama will soon be updating it to incorporate isostatic pressing, a system that – according to studies made by the German company – enhances overall product quality.
