Granito Forte continues to modernise its porcelain tile plants

Phase 2 of plant restructuring program given the go-ahead

GRANITO FORTE, based in Fresagrandinaria (Switzerland), has commissioned SACMI to complete Phase 2 of its plant restructuring program. Phase 1, designed to produce porcelain tiles with a “real-time” plant so as to reduce costs, is already up and running; this has a 125 m long FMS 255 kiln that works 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and produces 8,000 m²/day of granito ceramic. Now, with the advent of Phase 2, that first stage will be backed up by a similar line that has the added capacity of being able to produce the same items in both the 15x15 cm and 20x20 cm (glazed and non-glazed) sizes. High performance is a must here. Consequently the Phase 2 line will include 2 PH 2890 presses, dies made by Sacmi Molds & Dies, an ECP 285/11.3 m drier, a glazing line, and a 100 m kiln maxi-compensator (which regulates tile feed) for granito ceramic with a 2860 mm inlet. This important investment program will ensure that Granito Forte increases its hold on standard quality market segments even further, especially as regards so-called salt and pepper products.
