Heavy Clay business expands in North Africa

Sacmi Heavy Clay will soon be heading for Oran Expo, the international construction fair in Algeria.

Sacmi’s Heavy Clay Division will soon be playing a starring role at Oran Expo, the international construction and urban management fair being held in the city of Oran, Algeria, from 12 to 15 October 2015. Thanks to a growing North African customer base and the recent takeover of Cosmec, Sacmi now offers a comprehensive range of plant engineering solutions for the brick and roof tile (heavy clay) industry that is characterised by high reliability and outstanding process automation.

Decades of experience in the industry, crowned by several recent takeovers and excellent intra-Group synergy (such as effective teamwork between Gaiotto and Cosmec in the robotized solutions field), have made Sacmi the leading producer of both individual machines and complete plant for the manufacture of face bricks, hollow bricks, construction blocks, roof tiles, ventilated facades and extruded tiles. The strongpoints of our solutions are minimised consumption, low environmental impact and personalised plant engineering that reflects the customer’s real needs (taking into account, first and foremost, the raw material sourcing situation in order to maximise simplicity, flexibility and, therefore, plant profitability).

Moreover, Sacmi has a far-reaching presence on the Algerian market, with numerous plants already up and running. Three more plants were supplied just recently and these are now being assembled. On the local market, what really makes the difference is attentive after-sales service and new synergies within the Group itself: this has allowed Sacmi to reinforce its position on the industry’s strategic markets and focus on providing process automation solutions such as wet product handling and loading lines, dry and fired product unloading lines and finished product stacking and packaging solutions.

Outstanding experience, unparalleled know-how (together with the widely acknowledged reliability of the individual technological solutions) and highly competitive plant proposals in keeping with the changing needs of the international construction industry all allow Sacmi to look to the future of the North African heavy clay business with confidence.
