High quality kitchen sinks for US customers

Sanikey chooses Sacmi’s ADM160 for its top-of-the-range products

Large stylish kitchen sinks and washbasins are the showpiece products of Sanikey - the Turkish company specialized in the production of top quality sanitaryware. These are difficult pieces to handle and have a very high unit cost. It is a type of production which requires the most advanced level of technology in order to meet the standards of a demanding and competitive market.

These are the challenges which dictated Sanikey’s choice to install a Sacmi ADM 160 high pressure casting machine at its Istanbul plant. Capable of a clamping force equal to 160 tons, this machine can handle moulds with two cavities having dimensions up to 1.200x1.500 mm. Sanikey’s objective is to manufacture large-sized kitchen sinks, up to 940x460x260 mm, destined for the US market. This target requires excellent quality which can be guaranteed by Sacmi’s casting machine. It is also possible to use the ADM 160 for the manufacture of other articles that can be obtained using moulds divided into two parts such as (in addition to sinks) washbasins, pedestals and water tanks.

Furthermore the machine is provided with several special features designed to increase production speed and make the entire production process safer. For example, the ADM’s crossbeam is equipped with a device for automatic rotation with an operating range of 180° thus enabling both demoulding and mould change-over operations to be carried out horizontally. This means that mould change-over is made quicker and safer and the moulds are handled faster and with greater accuracy. First-rate safety standards are also guaranteed with the moulds being handled at all times whilst “resting” on a surface or suspended from overhead and plenty of space is provided for easy machine access.
