Isostatic Pressing - the New Target for Sama

The LPP 1S-38 is launched - the latest innovation from the well-established LPP range used worldwide

This completely renewed isostatic press, the latest innovation in the well-established LPP-1-38 and  LPP-2-38 ranges, has been launched by the Sacmi-group firm Sama Maschinenbau, which is specialised in designing machinery and production systems for the tableware industry. The LPP 1S-38 was launched at the latest (the 11th) edition of Ceramitec, a trade fair dedicated to machinery and materials for the ceramics industry. This brand new machinery was presented by Sama together with possible innovative applications for deburring and sponging. A specific application was also demonstrated for moulding cups and other hollow tableware. The application also covers cutting and edge finishing.

Sama's lengthy experience from making the previous ranges - at least 100 of which are installed worldwide - helped in the development of the new press. The Sacmi group's experience with large-scale presses has also been invaluable. The machine's features include plungers in spheroidal cast iron casting and pre-pressured columns which reduce elongation during pressing. It is also less bulky than the previous versions of the machinery.

The modular structure of the LPP 1S-38, predisposed for potential dual mounting, means that two pressing heads can be used that share one electric control panel but function completely autonomously and independently from one another. As for the hydraulics, the machine incorporates significant modifications which can increase the efficiency of the system, in particular eliminating risks of contamination of the hydraulic oil. The press itself has also been made to function more rapidly thanks to a new model of filling valves. In addition, setting and adjusting the function parameters has been made simpler and more practical with the introduction of proportional control valves into all the machine's circuits.
