Keramin and Sacmi: innovating together

New order for large continuous grinding system at the Minsk plant

Once again, when it comes to choosing a reliable technical partner for a major technological make-over, Keramin, one of the most important tile and sanitaryware producers in the Commonwealth of Independent States, has chosen Sacmi.

Keramin’s drive towards modernisation was already evident in previous projects, which renewed machines and technology from spray drying to sorting (with, however, grinding still taking place in batteries of existing discontinuous mills). Now, Keramin, a producer with a sharp focus on innovation and optimisation, has decided to dismantle the existing discontinuous mills that were used for floor tile and granito production to make way for an imposing MMC continuous mill. Consisting of 3 modules, each with a capacity of 60,000 litres, this is, to date, the largest mill to be installed in the Commonwealth of Independent States.

For over 20 years MMC has been an industry-wide synonym for continuous grinding; now, the MMC series restates SACMI’s leadership in this field by employing a solution that ensures outstanding plant flexibility and productivity together with considerable energy savings (volume and power remaining equal, up to 15% compared to traditional continuous grinding).

Currently being installed, this order also includes a continuous raw material weighing and mixing system, which handles hard and clayey materials separately, and turbo-dispersers to place the clays themselves in solution.
