During 2013, despite persisting international tensions, the Iranian tile market saw the addition of a new start-up in the Meybod area. The firm’s name is Kourosh Tile, evoking the name and deeds of the Persian emperor Cyrus the Great.
This new plant, started up in October 2013, can produce 3 million square metres of high-end digitally decorated wall tiles a year, all thanks to cutting-edge Sacmi technology. More specifically, body preparation consists of two 41,000-litre continuous mills, both featuring the latest automatic raw material and additive feed systems; downstream from these is a 9000-litre spray drier which, in turn, feeds two 2500-ton presses connected to the relative 9-metre-high EVA993 driers. They lead to comprehensive, ultra-modern glazing lines supplied by Intesa, the Sacmi subsidiary that specialises in glazing and digital decoration. Deserving of a special mention are the Colora HD decorators, real gems of digital technology, which allow Kourosh Tile to produce wall tiles that can, in terms of both quality and aesthetic effects, compete not just with those made by other Iranian firms but those produced in Europe too. The firing department features a 140.7 metre long kiln with the latest energy saving solutions and outstanding temperature control performance, specifically designed to maximise first class tile yields. The entire line is served by automatic handling/storage systems that drastically reduce labour requirements and maximise plant efficiency. Completing the production process are two sorting units provided by Nuova Fima, the Sacmi company that specialises in extremely high-tech, high-performance, efficient end-of-line solutions characterised by outstanding service quality.
Over the course of this year the company is expected to grow further: thanks to the synergies created by the Sacmi Group, Kourosh Tile has been able to count on a fast plant start-up and, consequently, immediate and outstanding market feedback right from the start.
Further evidence, then, of how, even in difficult times, Sacmi remains the perfect partner, one that, thanks to technological innovation, allows firms to compete on ever-more demanding markets.
