Metal powder, the very best Sacmi technology for Slovak firm Gevorkyan

The result of two generations of experience and know-how in the powder metallurgy field and currently Slovakia’s leading company with customers in over 30 countries worldwide, Gevorkyan has renewed its trust in Sacmi by purchasing an additional press - the third belonging to this series in just two years - for the processing of sintered metal powders

The new MPH 200 press - which now joins a previously installed MPH 200 and a MPH 66 – can mould pieces of complex geometry and ensure dimensional accuracy of up to ± 0.025 mm. Such features easily put it at the highest end of the market in terms of performance, largely thanks to its 10 closed-loop-control axes.

In addition to outstanding precision, the machine offers excellent reliability and productivity plus compact configuration, which allows all the quality control tasks to be performed at high speed and directly on the line. Forming of multi-level items with micrometric precision requires, in fact, perfect synchronisation of movement between the various mould parts not just at the final pressing stage but also during the powder transfer stages to ensure attainment of the right shape and proper density distribution.

The new press is also equipped with a latest-generation control system and innovative Sacmi-patented structural solutions, such as the floating table.

This latest supply reinforces the relationship of mutual trust and respect that binds Sacmi and Gevorkyan. This partnership quickly went from strength to strength following Gevorkyan’s decision not only to equip itself with the best European technology for the industry but also to supply the market with products that had never before been made in the metal powder sector. This policy soon allowed the company to become a supplier, on five continents, to major automotive (from Bentley to Mercedes, from BMW to Audi), machine tool (Black & Decker, Dewalt) and agricultural processing (John Deere, Komatsu etc.) firms.

Now in the process of being assembled and tested at the Vlkanová plant, the new MPH 200 will soon be working alongside the other two presses, which have been operational since February 2014 at the Slovakian company. The company exports 80% of its output and 10% of the workforce is employed in R&D operations.
