Monterrey, Sacmi meets Mexican companies

Advantages of continuous wet grinding and new presses from the Imola series illustrated

“The evolution of the ceramic production process: how to increase productivity”. A key topic for the Italian Machinery and Equipment Constructors’ Association (Acimac), which has organised a training course and a workshop, to be held from 22nd to 25th April in the Mexican city of Monterrey. Sponsored by the Mexican Ceramic Society and aimed at those in the industry – about one hundred representatives from the local ceramic industry are expected to participate – it constitutes not only an opportunity to bring everyone up to speed on the latest technological innovations but also for speakers to do some important promotional work for their companies.

The event, held against a backdrop of promotional activities organised by the Italian Foreign Trade Institute (Ice) together with Acimac, will be a 2-stage affair. During the first three days the actual training course will take place; industry experts will focus their attention on the various stages of the production cycle and show participants how to increase plant productivity. The workshop, which will take place on 25th April, will, instead, bring together local firms and Italian companies, with the latter illustrating the characteristics and technological innovations of their machines to local production technicians and purchasing managers.

The Sacmi Group will be presenting a report titled “Technical developments in continuous wet grinding and pressing: improvements in quality and quantity”. Taking the stand will be Renzo Barbiero, technical assistance manager at Sacmi de Mexico. His talk will focus on continuous modular mills and the technical specifications of the new Imola-series presses, which offer not only excellent output performance on account of numerous technical upgrades but also innovative, ergonomic design.
