New 60,000 pieces-per-day Sacmi kiln for El Aguila

Investment means Mexican company will soon be producing 20 million roof tiles a year

A major Mexican order for Sacmi Heavy Clay, and one that is already installed and running: this is an innovative 120-metre long, 2,890 mm wide roller kiln that will allow El Aguila, a key Mexican maker of building materials, to boost daily output by 60,000 pieces.

More specifically, passing through the innovative Sacmi-built kiln will be Portuguese roof tiles, at an annual production rate that El Aguila estimates to be in the order of 20 million pieces. The new kiln and automatic robot-assisted palletizing line– also supplied by Sacmi – will be added to the existing plant, the only one in the world currently making extruded, re-pressed Portuguese tiles that exploit the advantages of both fast drying technology and firing in roller kilns without refractory holders.
