As part of its ongoing product improvement policy SACMI now offers a new range of high-tonnage presses. Named IMOLA, this range will soon replace the current POWER series, inaugurated in 1999 with the introduction of the PH7200. The new IMOLA models have an all-new feature, presented for the first time at the recently held TECNARGILLA 2006 fair (see photo) and developed together with renowned industrial designer, Isao Hosoe; featuring element is the luminous status indicator installed in a central position on the upper part of the machine, providing useful information on press status even at a distance.
Beneath the restyled shell the press has also undergone significant technical developments. Assembled using the tried and tested preloaded wire technique, the press frame now incorporates the main cylinder in which the pressing piston slides. In this configuration optimised rigidity of the various structural parts ensures uniform distribution of the pressing load under all working conditions, even on the larger models. The oil-hydraulic control unit is now directly connected to the cylinder to ensure maximum speed and precision of all pressing parameters. Equipped with the latest generation of control software (see photo), the new range also features automatic self-tuning; this ensures maximum productivity performance without in any way compromising the quality of the final product.
