New Sacmi PH8200: the first press goes to the Romani Group

The Romani Group, based in Casalgrande (Re, Italy), has been providing - through its Serenissima, Cir, Cercom, Cerasarda brands and the Isla subsidiary - authentic ‘Made in Italy’ value since 1968. Creativity, style and innovative ceramic technology are the Group's hallmarks. Leading the way once again, Romani is now the first manufacturer to purchase the all-new Sacmi PH8200 press. The latest model in the Imola series the Sacmi press range first launched in 2006 that has since sold 850 machines and conquered world markets the PH8200, now up and running at Romani, was developed according to cutting-edge Industry 4.0 principles.

The follow-up to the successful PH7500, this latest model offers greater pressing power (productivity remaining equal), letting manufacturers produce tiles of considerable thickness and size. It also mounts the CRS (rapid mould changeover) system, now as standard on the highest-tonnage Sacmi machines as it allows moulds to be switched extremely quickly by just a few workers.

Another key aspect that attracted the attention of the Romani Group - which has made constant research into creative, innovative solutions its hallmark to ensure customers always get the highest quality and design originality - was the completely new automation logic of this latest-generation press. Based on the Ethernet Powerlink protocol, the PH8200 automation programme allows ultra-high communication speeds and, therefore, more precise, effective control of all machine parameters (including energy consumption, another key aspect for the Romani Group, which has always been attentive to sustainable manufacturing).

In order to provide predictive diagnostics, Sacmi has combined these key features with an advanced sensor system; the latter effects real-time monitoring of vital machine parts, highlighting any problems or maintenance needs before they can impact regular press operation. Last but not least, the new operator interface enhances user-friendliness. This latest order reinforces the partnership between Sacmi and the Romani Group, a successful, versatile global manufacturer-marketer of ceramic finishing items for architecture.
