New Sacmi line for Spanish firm Ceramica Mayor SA.

New rapid drying line delivered to Spain

This renowned Spanish producer of extruded ceramic items - such as flooring, ventilated facades and a broad range of trims - has a long history of developing new products and being highly attentive to technological improvements. Now, with Sacmi, it has completed a significant project that focuses on the large-size products that are enjoying ever-greater market popularity.

This working partnership was sealed with the completion of a new contract for the supply of an innovative extruded ceramic rapid roller dryer together with the complete handling system.

This latest line, the result of careful, detailed joint analysis by technicians from both Ceramica Mayor and Sacmi, will allow this renowned Alicante-based company to compete on the market with all the flexibility and reliability that comes from Sacmi’s long-standing experience in the industry; that vast pool of experience has, in fact, now provided Ceramica Mayor with the best technological support on the market and cutting-edge plant engineering solutions.

The jewel in the crown is the already-cited multi-layer roller dryer for extruded products that allows a wide range of items to be dried in less time and with outstanding output capacity, flexibility and excellent final product quality. Sacmi-developed roller dryer technology is based on forced-draught ventilation that flows simultaneously over all piece surfaces and step-type adjustment of the drying stages thanks to modular construction, with independent control and adjustment of each module. Completing the order is a handling system that stretches from the cutter outfeed to the kiln inlet and passes through dryer feed, storage transfer and decoration, thus allowing the manufacturer to control small floor tiles or large (and hollow) sizes up to a maximum length of 3 m (fired).
