Complete tile production plant sold to Jsc Keramin in St Petersburg
Sacmi continues to extend its presence on the Russian tile market. At the end of 2003 the Imola-based Group signed a contract for the supply of a complete tile production plant with Jsc Keramin of Saint Petersburg. This new line - which will provide an output capacity of 6200 m2/day of double fire 200 x 300 mm wall tile - consists of a spray drier with an evaporating capacity of 5200 litres/h, three fully overhauled PH980 presses from another Jsc production plant, a horizontal drier and a biscuit kiln. Tiles exiting the kiln will be handled by suction cup devices and stored on special racks: from here they will be sent by elevator cars to the two glazing lines (one in-stand-by, one operative). The glazing line is connected - apart from an intervening roller rack- directly to the glaze kiln. To complete the plant Sacmi is also supplying a Master sorting system and an automatic palletizer.Installation is already well under way and the plant is expected to become operative early on in 2004.
