New Sacmi plant at the Jsc Keramin plant in St Petersburg

Complete tile production plant sold to Jsc Keramin in St Petersburg

Sacmi continues to extend its presence on the Russian tile market. At the end of 2003 the Imola-based Group signed a contract for the supply of a complete tile production plant with Jsc Keramin of Saint Petersburg. This new line - which will provide an output capacity of 6200 m2/day of double fire 200 x 300 mm wall tile - consists of a spray drier with an evaporating capacity of 5200 litres/h, three fully overhauled PH980 presses from another Jsc production plant, a horizontal drier and a biscuit kiln. Tiles exiting the kiln will be handled by suction cup devices and stored on special racks: from here they will be sent by elevator cars to the two glazing lines (one in-stand-by, one operative). The glazing line is connected - apart from an intervening roller rack- directly to the glaze kiln. To complete the plant Sacmi is also supplying a Master sorting system and an automatic palletizer.
Installation is already well under way and the plant is expected to become operative early on in 2004.
