New Whiteware laboratories: putting the customer first

Sanitaryware: a constantly developing market that demands new model design work be done fast and outstandingly, a market that demands companies employ production processes capable of handling every aspect of production, from the first design sketches to the finished article. Our acute awareness of these demands has given rise to the new Sacmi Whiteware laboratories, which feature renewed premises, are more functional and have the most modern plants and equipment today’s market has to offer.

The pilot plant - which covers all the piece forming needs using high pressure casting techniques - consists of a number of machines.
To begin with there is the AVM, a single-mould machine for the production of open and closed-rim WC bowls with automatic rim gluing.
Then, and this is where the changes begin, there is the revolutionary AOM, the newest cutting-edge machine from the Black Tulip line, capable of producing the biggest sanitaryware article marketed today, the One Piece WC - an article that is highly interesting, explain the sales managers of the Whiteware division, for the north-central American and Asian markets.

After the ADM comes another importantly innovative machine, a single-mould unit suitable for the production of all articles obtainable with 2-part moulds, such as washbasins, pedestals and WC tanks. It also offers flexible de-moulding, allowing it to be carried out either vertically or horizontally. Finally, there is the ADS plant, suitable for the production of similar articles yet designed to operate in multi-mould mode (i.e. able to support the simultaneous utilisation of more than one resin mould).

The machines are complemented by the most modern Gaiotto Automation-made robots, thus minimising the need for manual product handling. These robots can also proceed with the initial finishing stage. Equally innovative is the layout of the machines in the department: each model, in fact, is accompanied by information signs for the benefit of the numerous visitors to the facility.

The new laboratories are completed by the glazing booth, dryer and recently renovated shuttle kiln.
