New investment for RAK INDIA, Sanitaryware Production

Daily output will increase by 3500 pcs thanks to the new Sacmi group technology.

As part of the process of modernising and automating its sanitaryware production plants, RAK India, part of RAK Ceramics (UAE), has installed a new STK 300 tunnel kiln to give a boost to its facility in Andhra Pradesh, India.


The kiln is a 91-metre long STK 300 manufactured by Riedhammer (Sacmi Group) and is equipped with a 14.7-metre glaze dryer positioned on the kiln car loading/unloading line. Car movement is fully automatic, being executed by transfer units featuring all active and passive safety devices needed to ensure personnel safety.


The installation of the new kiln increases plant output capacity by 3500 pieces per day. In addition to this, considerable energy savings will be made by switching from manufacturing with a shuttle kiln to manufacturing with a continuous kiln and also by implementing combustion air pre-heat technology on the kiln.
