New production line for Australian company Ncia

Parent company Ceramic Industries renews long-standing partnership with Sacmi Group

A giant by the name of Ceramic Industries: based in South Africa, it is the country’s biggest producer of sanitaryware and tiles. The Group – which has seven product plants, six in South Africa and one in Australia – includes high-calibre firms such as Samca Tiles, Pegasus, Vitro Tiles and Betta Sanitaryware.

One of Sacmi’s longest standing partners in all its business areas, Ceramic Industries channelled considerable levels of investment into its Australian branch in 2007. Called National Ceramic Industries (Ncia), Sacmi supplied it with a complete new production line, providing everything from a PH 4900 press to ECP 307/14.12 and EMS 295/12.6 driers and a FMS 295/136.5 kiln.

Start-up was completed in 2007 and National Ceramic Industries now has a daily tile output of over 20,000 square metres. This increase brings the plant to full output capacity, as Sacmi previously provided the body preparation department with an excellent machine pool (installing a MTC 108 mill and an ATM 110 spray drier) that was already in place to meet the additional workload generated by this latest line.
