PH 3020

New ceramic tile press

The latest in a now vast range of SACMI presses, the new PH 3020 press has been specifically designed for those manufacturers seeking their competitive edge through high productivity. This machine combines a considerable load width with those fast tile-forming cycle speeds for which SACMI presses are renowned worldwide. Because the number of cavities in the mould can be increased without having to slow down the high work rates typical of smaller presses, individual press productivity can be increased enormously. As on the SACMI Series 2000 presses the hydraulic circuit is equipped with accumulators and a multiplier to provide high-speed pressing cycles. The press also features a proportional control hydraulic circuit: this works together with the multiplier to give a high-performance blend of excellent precision and high output, while, at the same time, limiting maximum pressure in the feed circuit. The press is also equipped with the latest version of the SPE electronic proportional ejector system, which now features a new axes synchronisation board; since this board provides precision, speed and total control of mould flatness it is perfect for large moulds as it ensures a long working life for all parts subject to wear. The operator interface features a console with a large colour display via which the user can set all the tile forming parameters and effect real-time control and monitoring of all physical dimensions, control parameters and the status of all the devices on the machine. To maximise worker safety within the pressing station, much attention has been focussed on worker-machine interaction at the most critical stages of the process. To this end a new series of active safety devices have been introduced. These provide maximum worker safety and press equipment protection even in the event of a total power failure. These new safety standards will soon become the norm on all SACMI presses and, quite probably, throughout the industry as a whole.
