The new SACMI tile press

SACMI’s press range has now become even more comprehensive thanks to the addition of a new model, the PH 3800, a highly innovative, flexible machine able to provide a concrete response to all the needs of today’s ceramic tile producers. The effective load width is the greatest currently available on the market and allows the user to make significant increases in the number of mould cavities without compromising output rates. As on the SACMI Series 2000 presses, the hydraulic circuit is managed by a multiplier unit that ensures high speed during the pressing phase. The characteristics of the press make it perfect for use in conjunction with MONDRIAN, a SACMI device for cutting of unfired tiles; the width of the press, in fact, allows the user to produce large-size slabs from which a wide range of sizes can then be obtained without having to change the mould. The structure of the press is preloaded as on the SACMI Power series. This cutting-edge constructive technology has, in this case, been employed by assembling simple structural elements to give absolute, long-lasting reliability of strength, total control of deformation and compact engineering, which, especially in a press of this size, constitutes a total guarantee of performance over time. The press also features the now well-known SPE electronic proportional lifting system: the precision, speed and total control of mould planarity provided by this system (now improved thanks to a new axes control board) are perfect for large-size moulds, thus guaranteeing a long working life for all parts subject to wear. As far as automation is concerned, the press features proportional control hydraulics: integrated with the multiplier, this gives an advantageous combination of precision and high output while at the same time limiting maximum pressure on the feed circuit. The new operator interface has a large colour display screen console, which allows the user to enter all the parameters needed to form the tile while allowing monitoring of all physical dimensions, control parameters and the status of on-machine devices too. In order to improve working conditions for the operator the machine has been designed with an eye to the amount of dust that a press of this size might generate inside the production plant. The key points of this new production philosophy are the introduction of a new series of aspiration devices, integration with downstream machines and the insertion of all ambient dust aspiration wiring inside the press itself.
