Presses: the Sacmi Group breaks the 10,000 barrier

It all began back in the early 1950s, when Sacmi developed its first friction press. A machine that was, back then, the most advanced money could buy. And it is thanks to cutting-edge technology and reliability that the Sacmi Group has continued to produce, over the following decades, ever-more sophisticated machines and, consequently, to be chosen as the official supplier for a growing number of customers all over the world.

A success story that has allowed Sacmi to make a remarkable achievement: to have designed, built and installed on the customer’s premises the 10,000th press ever to have been built by the Group. The machine – a PH6200 – was assembled at the Rocersa ceramic plant in Spain and came on line at the beginning of December. A key model for those looking to produce medium-large porcelain tiles, the PH6200 is the latest act in a long line of technical developments spanning decades.

During the official start up ceremony for press number 10,000, which took place on December 13, Sacmi awarded Rocersa a silver press model to symbolise this stunning industrial development, which began in an age when technology was a different matter altogether. Yet while times and techniques have changed both that first press and this latest one are part of the same mission: to create cutting-edge products of long-lasting reliability.
