Less consumption, less pollution, faster production changeovers, efficient handling. This, then, is what Sacmi’s Kemac brand has to offer the world of small tile sizes, especially ceramic mosaic.
The MOSAIC solution is the product of the industrial and commercial partnership established some time ago between three companies, each leader in their respective fields: Sacmi Kemac, Emec and Lema. They are now on the market with an innovative mosaic ceramic production line that can make “micro-sizes” such as 18x18 mm or 11x51 mm and also larger sizes up to the 50x50 mm or 75x75 mm. This outstandingly flexible plant can, in addition to mosaic, also produce trims and small batches of 100x100 mm tiles.
Lema contributes to the line with the press and mould department while Emec supplies all the “connections” between the various stages of production, from “in-die powder placement” to transfer units and mosaic handling systems. The rest of the plant is entirely made by Sacmi Kemac and its extensive know-how is seen in the drying, decoration and firing departments.
In addition to excellent output performance, another key plant characteristic is better energy efficiency and the containment of economic and logistics costs.
For this reason the solution offered by Sacmi Kemac - in synergy with Emec and Lema - is an official part of Sacmi’s H.E.R.O project, a set of technological energy-saving solutions that can be applied to every stage of the production process, from body preparation to sorting and packaging.
An acronym for “High Efficiency Resource Optimizer”, H.E.R.O. also represents what is a clear strategic direction for the Sacmi Group, which has decided to focus on technological innovation, consumption containment and resource optimisation.
So far three mosaic plants have been completed according to this philosophy; they have been supplied to three separate firms in Spain, Russia and Turkey.
