Royal Mosa puts its faith in the Griffon

Traditional, prestigious Dutch company expresses a preference for Sacmi’s drying and firing experience

Royal Mosa, a leading producer of ceramic wall and floor tiles based in Maastricht, has decided to extend its porcelain floor tile size range and simultaneously achieve even higher technical standards.
To achieve that goal it has chosen the outstanding reliability of Sacmi drying and firing systems, tried and tested through years of mutually rewarding teamwork.
To dry the new range of extra-large products (high-thickness 900x900 mm, 600x1200 mm) Sacmi specially designed a new drier with three independent temperature/humidity adjustment zones, nine separate inverter-controlled forced ventilation zones and timed flow inversion.
The products will be fired in a high-temperature single-channel FMS285 kiln (90.3 m long) featuring a fibre vault that allows for the reduction of stand-by temperature at the week-end and a cutting-edge power/control panel of the Sailor - PC2M2 type: the latter features 2 independent monitor-PC systems with cascade interfacing (PRAKTICO + TUTOR), each of which has its own specific functions (PRAKTICO for control of firing recipes and all process guidance and control aspects, TUTOR for supervision, communication and handling of stored data).
This latest investment will boost floor tile output capacity by about 1.5 million m2 a year.
