SAMA, a strategic partner for Visabeira / Ria Stone (Vista Alegre Atlantis)

Ria Stone - New factory considered as a “Project of National Interest” in Portugal

A project of strategic importance to the Portuguese economy: accomplishing it is the Visabeira Ria Stone, which has opened a new production plant at its Ilhavo facility for the manufacture of ceramic stoneware. To complete the project, Visabeira /Ria Stone chose the best technology the market has to offer, which includes, once again, isostatic pressing solutions by SAMA, a member company of the Sacmi Group, the world’s leading producer of machines and complete plants for the manufacture of tableware and technical ceramic.

During the last few months, 12 SAMA-built isostatic presses with appropriate fettling machines

of the last generation, types: LPP 1-45 / OFM 8-45 and LPP 1S – 38 / OFM 8-38 have successfully been installed and tested at the new industrial site to ensure maximum efficiency and flexibility in the manufacture of the entire article range.

With this key order, then, the partnership between the Visabeira / Vista Alegre Atlantis Group and SAMA takes yet another step forward, resulting in the construction of a plant that is set to make a significant contribution to the development of the entire Portuguese ceramic industry. Thanks to this investment, in fact, Visabeira / Vista Alegre Atlantis will raise output capacity to 30 million pieces a year, providing the market with a broad, diversified product range.
