SAMA technology for American hotelware giant

Vajillas Corona invests in the new LPP-1-45 OFM 8-L45 isostatic pressing line for large formats

Vajillas Corona is a member company of the Columbian giant Organización Corona and one of the key players on the American tableware and (above all) hotelware market. At its production plant in Caldas, near Medellin, the firm recently installed and started up a complete isostatic pressing line supplied by Sama, the Sacmi Group company that specialises in the design and construction of tableware manufacturing solutions.

The heart of the line, the PP-1-45 press, is the flagship of the Sama isostatic press series, renowned for its versatility, flexibility and efficiency. Downstream, integrated on the press, is the OFM 8-L45 automatic finisher, designed to handle the dry finishing of any article type, whether round or multi-angular, square or rectangular, plate or dish, yet also articles with irregular or asymmetric edges: a solution that thus combines maximum versatility with an extremely simple product changeover procedure thanks to an outline detection system that requires no intervention on the part of the operator.

These, then, are the main reasons behind Vajillas Corona’s investment decision: thanks to this new press, the firm now aims to boost its output of large articles with an unfired plate diameter or main diagonal of up to 455 mm. Completing the picture is the low energy consumption of the plant (with positive effects on both running costs and environmental impact), making the Sama LPP-1-45 OFM 8-L45 line the ideal response to tableware manufacturers’ need to stay one step ahead of the market.
