Major new sale for Sacmi's Powder Metal Division, which further strengthens its position in the sector and consolidates a long-running industrial partnership with SAS Sinterizizzati in Bologna, one of the most important Italian companies in the design and manufacture of sintered mechanical parts, which are marketed in over 70 countries around the world.
"Automation at the service of the process" is the slogan that sums up the advantages of the MPH range of metal powder presses designed by Sacmi, the latest of which, the MPH 66, was recently installed and tested at the company's premises in Bologna. The distinctive characteristic of the press – and of the entire product range – is its great reliability, even when handling extremely complex products, thanks to the perfectly synchronised movements of the various parts of the mould, which ensure uniform powder density distribution during transfer and pressing. To complete the picture, a linear design and great flexibility during tool changes and set-up ensure high performance and optimised energy consumptions.
These benefits have been field tested by SAS Sinterizzati, a key player in the sector since 1978 and a former customer of Matrix – a company later taken over by the Sacmi group – which supplied two presses of 30 and 150 tons in the past, and then of the Group’s PM Division, from which SAS bought a MPH 200, the "big sister" of the MPH, 66 in 2012. This features all the innovations of the range, designed to reduce overall dimensions and speed up tool changes and mould development, for which it has been greatly appreciated by the market.
Thanks to these latest generation solutions, SAS Sinterizzati – which in addition to made-to-order mechanical components also produces sintered bushings, self-lubricating sleeve bearings and a wide range of accessories – has further extended its technological assets, relying on Sacmi know-how and on the distinctive features of this new range of metal powder presses, designed to handle very rapid production cycles and offer extreme calibration flexibility, to respond efficiently to all production needs.
