Over 200 specialised operators from 30 countries, representing the world’s major sanitaryware players, participated in the tenth edition of the convention on technological trends in the sanitaryware industry, which took place at Sacmi Imola on the eve of the Rimini-held international Tecnargilla fair. A special Open Day that, this year, has a special significance, because in 2014 Sacmi celebrates thirty years of doing business in the sanitaryware industry: “This year”, underlined Claudio Marani, general manager of Sacmi’s ceramics division, “is the 95th anniversary of that time when mine Imola-born mechanics and blacksmiths founded the Sacmi cooperative, now a Group that generates 1.3 billion Euros of sales and employs over 3,600 people thanks to decades of investment and uninterrupted innovation. Yet 2014 is also the year in which we celebrate another anniversary, Sacmi’s 30 years in the ceramic sanitaryware business: it’s a success story that has seen us go from start-up company to the industry’s world leader via the application of astute takeover policies and smooth integration between Group companies”.
The sanitaryware industry is one where innovation and experience are equally essential: yet it is also, and above all, the number of years during which a technology producer demonstrates he is able to compete on the market with efficient, high-performance solutions that makes the difference. This is undisputedly the case with Sacmi’s ceramic sanitaryware division which, in these “first” thirty years of doing business, has sold no less than 5,800 moulds and over 400 high pressure casting machines all over the globe, all characterised by quality, reliability, efficiency and energy savings. It is a leadership role that the Group chose to honour this year too, on the eve of the Tecnargilla fair, by organising a special company open day together with the industry’s biggest international names from four continents.
