Sacmi: a ‘total partner’ for the ceramic industry

Quality, productivity and energy savings the strong points of the solutions presented at Tecnargilla

Technology and innovation as a strategic investment and new products in order to continue playing a key role on the global market: at Tecnargilla 2010 – the international fair of technology and supplies for the ceramic and brick industry, scheduled to take place at Rimini Fiera from 27th September to 1st October 2010 – the Sacmi Group will be showcasing several new developments.

The exhibited technological solutions (Hall B1) will range from the single-layer roller kiln of the EKO series – a revolutionary “green” machine that reduces fumes, allows selection of the fumes to be purified and can also be length-adjusted to meet specific production requirements – to the new PH3200 press equipped with an innovative linked tie-rod pre-load system that offers outstanding performance in terms of reliability and the capacity to process even the most difficult materials.

On the continuous grinding front, Sacmi will display the new L CUBE anti-wear mill lining, which raises output by 5% without any increase in energy consumption. Sacmi will also be displaying its latest developments in the digital decoration field, such as the DDD175 for controlled application of powders onto a ceramic body, able to use traditional ceramic pigments without any particle size distribution limits. In the wet digital decoration field, instead, the Sacmi group, together with its sister company IN.TE.SA., will be presenting the new COLORA HD.
For the automatic handling and end-of-line areas, there are new solutions from Sima, a Sacmi Group company that will be displaying innovative storage machines, and Nuova Fima, which will be showing visitors an automatic sorting and palletizing line.

Other key machines on display include the Sidepack packaging machine, designed by Sacmi to drastically reduce packaging material requirements and able to handle slabs up to 3 metres long. On the Molds&Dies business front Sacmi will exhibit universal bases for large-size presses and a new floating modules system (an evolution of the traditional isostatic punch compensation system) that is ideal for any mould type or size.

As for the sanitaryware, it would be unthinkable for an international leader such as Sacmi not to show visitors to Rimini the latest innovations that have allowed the Group, this year, to sell its 900th glazing robot, over 25 complete plants, at least 270 casting machines and more than 40 driers. So visitors will have the opportunity to see an AVM150 integrated casting centre equipped with the all-new GA2010 robot by Gaiotto Automation. Then, there will also be the recent AVB, a high pressure WC casting machine that makes articles using 4-part moulds, installed at the Sacmi Research Centre in Imola, where, in concomitance with the fair (Monday 27th September), there will be the traditional technical seminar.

In addition to what above, at the special Claytech section dedicated to the brick industry (Hall A5-C5), Sacmi will be illustrating a series of technologies designed to combine output efficiency and environmental safeguards, especially at energy-saving level (following on from the H.E.R.O. – High Efficiency Resource Optimizer- project): with its complete-cycle production machines, Sacmi is fast becoming the ‘total partner’ for the Heavy Clay sector. Visitors will, of course, have the chance to get a close look at bricks and breeze blocks, roof tiles and floor/wall tiles, as well as ventilated façades produced by companies that have placed their trust in Sacmi turnkey plants.
