Sacmi Molds&Dies, new universal bases

Equipped with controlled-chamber bellows to make size changeover easier and prevent production waste

Easier size changeovers with controlled-chamber bellows, lower overhaul costs and no production waste. As of today, all this is possible thanks to the innovative, patented Sacmi Molds&Dies system, which features double-walled bellows with a sealed, pressurised chamber monitored by a pressure switch. The system extends - also as a result of the special materials employed - the working life of the bellows and keeps them in good condition, thus preventing those breakages that can damage the mould and generate production waste. This system also drastically reduces the cost of overhaul, which now involves size-related parts only.
The die, as usual, consists of a lower part connected to the press ejection systems and an upper “size-related” part that defines the geometric characteristics of the tile. This latter is subject to frequent replacement on account of both natural wear and product size changeovers. The lower part, instead, where properly designed, can become universal and permanent on the press bed as in the case of the Fast Changing Die. The main obstacle was the unpredictability of the dust-guard bellow, which, even where replaced periodically as per maintenance schedules, still occasionally needed replacing following damage or abnormal wear.
