Sacmi PH 6500 press arrives in Saudi Arabia

Mr. Abdul Rahman Saleh Al Omran – Managing Director and owner of Saudi firm Al Jawdah - has decided to put his trust in Sacmi to conclude an impressive investment project in Riyadh, where a new ceramic production plant is currently being installed and tested; once completed it will have an output capacity of 110,000 square metres per day.

A key element of this plant is the brand new PH 6500, a hydraulic press from the Imola series. The largest ever installed in Saudi Arabia, it features a maximum pressing force of 64,000 kN and an inter-column clearance of 2,450, just perfect for the manufacture of very large tiles.

That takes the tally of Made in Sacmi presses already delivered to the Al Jawdah plant as part of this project to 6, together with the 4 PH 3200 presses that have arrived on Saudi soil in recent weeks. The first PH 6500, positioned on 3rd July, is now joined by a second, of an analogous size; this will allow completion of the first phase of the investment, capable of producing 40,000 m2 a day.

Sacmi is also the provider of the other main machines on the production line, from the spray driers – 3 are now being installed – to the 2 high performance mills. In the coming months another 400 Sacmi-branded containers will be heading for Riyadh to complete the project with machinery and equipment for the drying and firing departments.
