Sacmi fields a full team at Ceramics China 2011

With an ever-stronger in-country presence, the Group will be showing off the very best of its tile, sanitaryware, tableware and ventilated façade technology.

Tiles, sanitaryware, tableware, ventilated facades: Sacmi’s presence on the Chinese market continues to grow and strengthen. As in previous years, the first opportunity to show off the Group’s outstanding multi-business technology will be Ceramics China, which will be held at Guangzhou from 26th to 29th May 2011.
This will be the 25th edition of what is China‘s biggest ceramic industry fair. Sacmi, on a stand covering over 300 square metres (C 103 – Hall 3.1 International), will present its latest technological innovations, starting, of course, with the solutions for tile production, a field in which Sacmi has decades of experience and a wealth of know-how. Tiles, in fact, will be the centrepiece of a conference to be held on 28th May at 10.30 in the Pazhou Exhibition Hall (B Zone, Room 1): the focus of the conference will be energy saving systems, which at Sacmi go hand in hand with the outstanding productivity of its large-size kilns, the specific firing methods that allow output quality to be increased and the benefits of continuous grinding. By way of example, Sacmi will be displaying the firing module of a single channel KCI kiln, 3150 mm wide.
China is a key market for the Group’s development and internationalisation plans. For Sacmi the gateway to that market is the Nanhai production site, which will be exhibiting a highly innovative press by Sama (the Sacmi Group company specialising in the design of machines and complete plants for the tableware sector). To be presented at a workshop at Sacmi Nanhai on Friday 27th May, this isostatic plate production press is an excellent solution for the production of unconventionally shaped items (oval, asymmetric etc.) and will be operating every day of the fair. Sacmi’s tableware experts will be at the fair stand to provide visitors with all the information they need and take them on a guided tour of the Sacmi Nanhai plant.
From tableware to sanitaryware. Exhibited at the trade fair for the second year running, the GA 2000 robot by Gaiotto Automation is designed for the robotised glazing of “one-piece” sanitaryware items, of which China is one of the world’s biggest producers. On this occasion visitors will have the opportunity to see the robot in action and check out the remarkable performance already appreciated on the Chinese market where the robot was, in 2010, sold to a major Chinese firm in the industry.
Sacmi also has a particularly strong presence in China when it comes to extruded items, ventilated facades and technical ceramics. The latter can count on advanced technology from Riedhammer, also a leader on the Chinese market. For ventilated facades and, more generally, the heavy clay sector, 2010 was a success-studded year for the Group, as the large orders and successfully tested plants clearly demonstrate.
In short, the Chinese scenario looks highly promising and is one that Sacmi aims to strengthen even further – especially given its growth potential – by focussing on the Nanhai production district on the one hand and continuing to invest in product and process innovation on the other, thus ensuring continuous improvements in quality, reliability and energy resource optimisation. Needless to say, Sacmi Nanhai also provides a reference point for the entire after-sales network, from spare parts to assistance and the training of the operators and technicians who have placed their trust in the excellence of Sacmi’s solutions.
