Sacmi Whiteware supplies NIV casting lines and Gaiotto robotized glazing
On 29th September 2005 long-standing Rumanian company S.C. Romanceram S.S. inaugurated new Sacmi-built sanitaryware production lines. High-pressure Niv casting lines and Gaiotto Automation robotized glazing systems have been installed at the plant in Roman. Romanceram charged Sacmi with the task of giving their production logistics a much-needed overhaul: that goal has now been achieved by focussing on technology and significantly enhancing product quality. In the casting department the ALS150 module – equipped with 12 moulds for the production of washbasins and pedestals – and the AVE040 module – which produces 4 bowls per cycle – are now fully operative. The capacity of the high pressure casting lines is expected to be doubled in the very near future.Romanceram also gave Sacmi the task of optimising the high pressure product moulding process, choosing microporous resin moulds - made using exclusive Sacmi know-how - that blend outstanding high-quality performance with low running costs. The new Gaiotto Automation robotized glazing line provides an excellent opportunity to re-train staff employed in costly manual glazing tasks and also optimises the price/quality ratio of this process.Ongoing technical/production personnel training is an essential part of the partnership between Romanceram and Sacmi; this aspect is essential to the success of the ambitious modernisation program that has been launched at the Roman plant.
