Sacmi’s partnership with Vitra-Ekzacibasi goes from strength to strength

A second Sacmi-built technical porcelain plant soon to be started up by the Turkish Group.

The Vitra-Ekzacibasi Group, Turkey’s leading producer of top-of-the-range tiles and sanitaryware, is about to start up its second porcelain tile plant within the Bozuyuk production facility. Ekzacibasi, a long-standing purchaser of Sacmi machines and plants, is, in fact, about to start up two ATM18 spray driers, two 34,000-litre discontinuous mills and relative accessories for the completion of the grinding department. Also being supplied are a PH2590 press for the production of small and medium-size porcelain tiles, an EVA793 vertical drier and a 67.7-metre FMS2230 kiln - all belonging to the very latest generation of Sacmi Group machines.
The plant will mainly produce 15x15 and 20x20 cm tiles with a thickness of 8 - 14 mm and will, during the initial phase, have an output capacity of 3500 square metres per day of high-added-value tiles.
This plant, which will flank the others in Bozuyuk, Tuzla (Istanbul) and Ireland, will raise the Vitra-Ekzacibasi Group’s overall capacity to over 17 million square metres/year – every single one made with Sacmi technology.
