Growing market interest in Sacmi’s machine range thanks to product flexibility and full compliance with hygiene standards

Not just step pieces, but skirting board too. New hot-bending technology developed by Sacmi has widened the tile application range as a variety of folds can now be made: not just downward folds to make step pieces, but upward ones too. The latter possibility means that the skirting board can now be incorporated into the tile, thus eliminating wall-floor gaps and making cleaning tasks easier.
The now-perfected production process is a two-stage procedure: first an incision is made on the back of the tile, then this pre-cut tile is re-fired on a shaped refractory support.
For over two years now this patented Sacmi technology has been in use in three production plants worldwide.
Thus-made products fully comply with EC legislation, especially EC Directive 852/2004, which sets strict limits regarding hygiene standards in food preparation areas. This factor is the main reason for the growing market interest in Sacmi’s tile bending machines.
