Sacmi to showcase innovation in China

Everything now ready for Ceramics China 2014

The 2014 edition of Ceramics China - the Chinese fair dedicated to ceramics technologies being held from 21st May to 24th May at Guangzhou – is now just around the corner. The event will be hosting a good-sized group of Italian companies, all ready to display their technological excellence. Among them, of course, will be Sacmi, which will be illustrating its innovations for tiles, sanitaryware and tableware industry.

Sacmi’s extensive 500 m2 exhibition area – Hall 3.1, stand C217 – will be displaying the  “Digital Ecosystem” of Intesa, the Sacmi subsidiary specializing in digital decoration: from images acquisition through digital scanners (as for example Imago) specifically designed to meet the ceramics industry requirements, to prototyping and development of products through digital plotters, without forgetting the elaboration of digital imagines thanks to Crono, the highly comprehensive, innovative hardware-software system developed by Intesa for the “colour management” of the digital printing processes.

Yet the beating heart of the Digital Ecosystem is the COLORA HD BLACK 708 digital printer, which gives the possibility to install up to 8 colour bars. It is the most recent version in the COLORA printer series and it uses the newest generation of Xaar 1002 printing heads, which assure optimal performances in terms of stability and reliability. Visitors and customers will also have the chance to see products obtained through the innovative HW technology. Thanks to the controlled application of water-based ceramic glazes, this new technology can produce “tactile” effects that traditional inks cannot realize. The main aim is thus to produce a completely digital line for the management of the glazing and decorating processes.

The Sacmi Group will also be taking an active part in several conferences at the fair. Firstly, there will be a talk by Intesa on Thursday 22nd May from 10 to 10.45 am at the Pazhou Exhibition Hall Zone A, Baiyun Room (registration at the Sacmi stand), titled “Glazing and decoration in the Digital Era of Ceramics”. Then from 10.50 to 11.30 a.m. Sacmi technological laboratory will also organize a conference titled “The evolution of the production process for glazed porcelain tiles with particular reference to drying, glazing, decorating and firing”. Lastly, again on 22nd May, at 10 a.m. at Huacheng Room, Sacmi will participate in a convention on the use of Syneco oil on Sacmi presses.

Daily visits to the Sacmi Nanhai production plants have also been arranged; these will depart at 1 p.m. from the Sacmi stand. Visitors will have the opportunity to get a first-hand look at the PHC4300, PH6500 and PH7500 presses, to the FBN223 double-channel kiln as well as to a module of the new KCI XXL 3850 kiln, an “extra large” 3,850 mm wide machine capable of processing a considerably greater number of tiles than currently available kilns of the same length. The perfect kiln, then, for large tile production.
