Sacmi to supply a new plant to Chile

Cerámicas Cordillera to purchase a modern Sacmi-built line for single fire and porcelain tile products.

Cerámicas Cordillera S.A. has decided to expand operations at its plant in Santiago del Chile by purchasing a modern Sacmi-built production line. This new plant will produce about 3 million square metres of single fire floor tile and glazed porcelain tile per year, including large sizes, for both the internal and export markets. The line supplied by the Sacmi Group - characterised by a high degree of automation - will include a continuous MTC070 mill with alumina grinding media, an ATM90 lance-type spray drier, two PH3590 presses and two 5-level ECP 285 horizontal driers. Cerámicas Cordillera S.A. is Chile’s leading manufacturer of floor and wall tiles. Based in Santiago, it belongs to the renowned Pizarreño Industrial Group, headed by the multinational Etex.
