Sok doubles its size and targets Europe

The sanitaryware plant of the Russian company will be able to produce 800 thousand pieces/year

At the end of 2007 Russian company Zao Syzranskaya Keramica announced intentions to double the size of its sanitaryware plant. Exactly one year later it is confirmed that the second stage of the plant expansion has been started up, leading to a total production capacity of approx. 800 thousand pieces/year.

Zao Syzranskaya Keramica is part of the Sok Group and is located in the Russian city of Syzran. The company officially started up its sanitaryware plant, entirely supplied by Sacmi, on 21st June 2007. At this stage also, commissioning times were extremely fast; to the great satisfaction of both Sok and Sacmi who further consolidated their business partnership.

The first machines, supplied in September 2006, enabled Sok to become the only Russian company manufacturing exclusively with high pressure casting machines and resin moulds, as well as being equipped with a completely automated and robotized glazing department. The high quality of the output, obtained thanks to Sacmi’s machines, has allowed Sok to significantly strengthen its brand on the home market, over the last few months, and to set up new joint projects with important foreign Groups.

Crowning achievement of the Sok Group, the Syzran production plant is now increasing its production capacity from 500 to 800 thousand pieces/year with good prospects for further development in the export market to the European Community. Already a partner of Sacmi for the manufacture of tiles in porcelainised stoneware – two of the three kilns installed are currently operating with a daily output of approx. 10 thousand sq. metres – Sok has been able to rely, not just on the technological excellence of Sacmi machinery, but also on our expert consultancy in terms of specific know-how related to the body and glaze of the sanitaryware using Russian raw materials.
Together with Sok, Sacmi’s technicians have also developed new modelling and a technical and technological training service for all the customer’s personnel.
