Spray driers: Sacmi breaks the 1000 barrier in Mexico

Supplied to Interceramic Mexico, this machine is the 1000th spray drier in Sacmi’s long history. This latest-generation ATM 180 model has an evaporating capacity of 18,000 litres an hour and a total installed power of 446 kW.

Producing the one thousandth spray drier is not, for Sacmi, just a symbolic achievement: it is, rather, clear confirmation of the Group’s now decades-long leadership in the raw material management sector. A fact that really means something when it comes to spray driers, which have, over the last few years, evolved considerably to meet fast-changing needs on a market that demands ever-greater reliability and, at the same time, ever-greater energy efficiency.

In-depth studies of spray drier internal fluid dynamics, together with systematic on-site evaluation and testing of every new solution, have led Sacmi to develop a new generation of devices, compatible with the majority of natural fuels and able to ensure optimal efficiency. Automation and electronic control of all working parts plus carefully designed safety devices constitute the bedrock of the machine - conceived to last a long time without any drop-off in productivity performance.

The opportunities offered by this development process were grasped immediately by Interceramic, which decided that a key investment such as this just had to be made with Sacmi. Founded in 1979, Interceramic now has 227 sales outlets in North America. With a policy of “high quality at competitive prices” its five production plants (four in Mexico and one in Garland, Texas) boast a total annual output capacity of over 40 million square metres.
